FC Westchester and the Soccer Elite program of White Plains today announced that their programs have merged into FC Westchester. The merger will bolster both clubs’ girls programs, as well as adding a premier-level boys program to FC Westchester’s already strong U.S. Soccer Development Academy and Pre-Academy programs.

Deborah Gilwit a former Soccer Elite club member will continue playing soccer at the next level. She will be staying local and playing for Manhattanville College in Purchase. Deborah's tecnical level, and tactical awarness made her stand out on the soccer field. Deb's work ethic and commitment to improving her game was her key to sucess.

High School: A 2010 graduate of New Rochelle High School … a four-year letterwinner for the Huguenots on the soccer field … a two-time team Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior … earned All-County, All-Section and All-League A honors in her senior year … also named to the All-League team as a sophomore and junior … a four-year honor roll student as well … at the club level, played for Soccer Elite in 2008-09 and the New York Magic in 2008. Deborah also participated in the Eastern New York ODP program, she will continue to give back to soccer by working in some club clincs and plans to start her career in Coaching by helping out with the younger girls teams.

Personal: Born December 20, 1992 … daughter of Roy and Kathy Gilwit … is one of nine children … plans on majoring in elementary education at Manhattanville.

This past weekend the FC 97 North Girls U14 team went out to particiapte in the East Meadow Conventa tournament in Long Island, NY. The team played very well for being the first time most got a chance to play togehter. The team has added some new players and have been practicing the last few weeks to prepare for the tournament.

The FC Westchester Elite Developmental Program (FCW Elite DP) is a supplementary training program conducted by experienced and qualified Elite coaching staff. It is not designed to replace a player’s Club team, practices or games but instead to complement them. Girls from U8 thru U12 with heightened interest in the sport should consider participating in FCW Elite DP to help improve their skills through proper instruction and regular training.

What’s Included: 1 Elite“DP” T-shirts 8 Training sessions per season focused on proper technique for:
• footwork
• dribbling
• passing
• receiving
• shooting

Seasons & Training: FCW Elite DP players are grouped with others similar in ability and they participate in training sessions conducted by Elite coaching staff. There are typically eight training sessions per season and the program operates during the fall, winter and spring.

Training sessions are an hour and fifteen minutes in length and except for our winter offering are usually held on Friday evenings at the White Plains High school . The winter session will be conducted indoors through one of our indoor facilities.
