alisone rainone

White Plains Elite 91 girls 2009 graduate, Ali Rainone, recently won the 2009 Patricia Louise Masotto/Brenda Driscoll Scholarship from Easter New York Youth Soccer Association.  Only 2 players from ENYSA won the award.  Ali will be presented with $1,000 check and a plaque at the ENYSA holiday party in December.

Ali has played with White Plains since 2001 and is an original White Plains Elite 91 player under Coach Carlos Mejia.  She attributes her success, both on and off the field, to her Club and High School Coach Carlos Mejia who provided a supportive and competitive soccer environment.   Her 8 years with White Plains has given her  wonderful experiences and many good moments on the field.    She recently started her freshman year at Marist College.

Congratulations to Ali and White Plains Elite!  White Plains Elite believes in developing both players and positive citizens who will contribute to society.

So far our record is 2-5. We travelled to Maine for Labor day weekend. The College transition has been a hard one but soccer really helped me to make friends and create a sisterhood with my teammates. We are in the ECAC conference. We practice everyday at 3:30 and we have games mostly on wednesdays and saturdays. Most away games are over an hour away. For instance our game tomorrow is 2 and a half hours away, New England College.

Meghan Warrger

have had a very positive soccer experience at William Smith College these past two years. Both the jv and varsity programs have had winning seasons.  I have started and played in all 8 jv games this year. I think  what many girls who are looking to play their sport at a higher level may not realize is how many great opportunities there are.  There are many terrific div 1 and div 3 programs out there that will allow you to grow in a sport you love while making great long term friendships and memories.  Playing soccer in college has been an amazing experience which is very obtainable for girls who are willing to put in the time commitment.  It has helped me to enjoy my college experience even more while at the same time becoming a better soccer player and person.
